These cartoons translated in English represent how there is a major conflict with the deaf about the cochlear implant. Many times deaf children who have hearing parents are subjected to this operation. This opperation is given to them with out the child's permission. The operation is costly, and may not always work.
Cartoon 3

This cartoon represents the difficulty of communication between deaf and physician when one signs and the other speaks. There are large communication barriers between deaf people and hearing people. Many times hearing people do not understand, or see a deaf person's perspective.
Cartoon 4

This cartoon shows how hearing people sometimes talk louder when they find out a person is deaf. This happens many times when a hearing person meets a deaf person for the first time. This is just another example of the lack of understanding many hearing people have about deaf people.
